A research paper by Professor Michael W. LASSALLE of the Faculty of Social System Design at Eikei University of Hiroshima, titled “Plant efficacy in biophilic design: A novel three-tiered assessment framework,” has been published in an international academic journal issued by SAGE Publications.
The study investigates the effects of plants on indoor air quality (IAQ) in an office environment and proposes a novel three-tiered analytical framework for evaluating these effects.
The findings suggest that the presence of plants can help reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels and improve air quality indicators related to total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs). However, the extent of these improvements varies depending on environmental conditions and pollutant type.
