On Friday, September 18, 2026, the AY2026 Autumn Graduation Ceremony was held at Eikei University of Hiroshima.

At this ceremony, six international students from the second cohort, who entered through the international student selection (autumn enrollment), completed their studies and celebrated their graduation day. Through their diverse learning experiences at the university, the graduates have cultivated five core competencies (“Global Collaboration,” “Foresight,” “Strategy,” “Energetic drive,” and “Self-Improvement”) and will embark on their respective new paths.

Ceremony Overview

In the venue, graduates clad in academic gowns attended the ceremony in a solemn atmosphere.

During the ceremony, President Mutsuhiro Arinobu referred to Knowledge and Love, an essay by Japanese philosopher Kitaro Nishida, to emphasize that global communication goes beyond language proficiency and requires empathy toward others. He encouraged the graduates by expressing his confidence that the communication skills they had developed at Eikei University of Hiroshima would become a powerful force for changing society for the better.

President’s Address by President Mutsuhiro Arinobu

Chairperson Norihiko Suzuki described the first cohort as “pioneers” who forged a path from scratch, and the second cohort as worthy “heirs” who had tested, expanded, and passed that path on to their juniors. He expressed his deep respect for the graduates’ achievements and contributions to the University as it continues to develop its systems and campus culture.

BA Khadidiatou, representing the graduates, reflected on the challenges, friendships, and personal growth she and her classmates experienced over their four years at Eikei University of Hiroshima. She expressed her gratitude to the faculty, staff, families, friends, and everyone who had supported them. Concluding her speech, she said, “Four years ago, we arrived at Eikei University of Hiroshima wondering what the future would hold. Today, we leave knowing that the future is ours to create.”
