Mexican High School Students from Guanajuato Visit EUH

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, a group of 14 visitors consisting of 10 high school students from Guanajuato, Mexico, two officials from the State of Guanajuato, and two staff members from the Hiroshima International Center visited Eikei University of Hiroshima to participate in an international exchange program with EUH students. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students with an interest in Japan and Hiroshima to engage with EUH students and deepen mutual understanding.

The program began with self-introductions at Eikei Top on the 15th floor, creating a welcoming atmosphere for interaction. Participants then gathered for a lunch exchange session over curry rice served at the university cafeteria, where conversations covered university life, cultural backgrounds, and future aspirations.

During the lunch session, lively discussions took place in English and Spanish, fostering natural interactions that transcended language and cultural differences. Participating students shared positive feedback, including comments such as, “It was great to have the opportunity to speak directly with high school students from Mexico,” and “The experience reminded me how enjoyable international exchange can be.”

Following the lunch exchange, participants gathered for a commemorative photo before joining a campus tour led by EUH students. Through visits to campus facilities, the high school students enjoyed conversations and Q&A sessions with EUH students, gaining a deeper understanding of learning opportunities and student life at Japanese universities.

The visit also provided a valuable learning experience for EUH students by broadening their international perspectives. Eikei University of Hiroshima remains committed to creating opportunities for meaningful international exchange that allow students to engage with diverse cultures and values while fostering globally minded individuals.
