On Thursday, July 16, 2026, Mr. Mitsutaka Hisada and Mr. Francis Ddembe of SATAKE CORPORATION (Headquarters: 2-30 Saijo Nishihonmachi, Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture) appeared as guest speakers in the “Industry and Business Model” course taught by Vice President and Dean ISHIKAWA Masanobu.
Mr. Ddembe is a graduate of the university’s first graduating class.

This course is offered as a liberal arts course for second-, third-, and fourth-year students. It is designed to foster entrepreneurial spirit and provide instruction on “global careers” and “solving social issues.”
As a special lecture, we invited two representatives from SATAKE CORPORATION to speak. They introduced the history of technological development undertaken by SATAKE CORPORATION to address challenges in food and agriculture. Students also had the opportunity to experience paddy threshing and rice polishing firsthand, learning about the significance of manufacturing in supporting the resolution of social issues and the importance of innovation.

This special lecture not only helped students discover the region’s appeal but also provided an opportunity for them to proactively consider “where and how they want to live and work.”
Eikei University of Hiroshima will continue to provide opportunities for each student to explore their own unique ways of living and working through learning experiences that connect them with the local community and society.
