ALI HAFIZ SHAN E, a second-year student, is active as a member of “Mini Mini Gaikoku,” an organization based in Hiroshima City that provides opportunities for English learning.
His main activities involve planning and carrying out initiatives to encourage children who feel shy or lack confidence when speaking English. Through participatory activities, speeches, communication exercises, educational games, and cultural exchange opportunities, she helps children gain confidence and practical communication skills, supporting them so they can thrive in the future, both in Japan and abroad.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, ALI HAFIZ SHAN E joined the children in approaching foreign tourists visiting Hiroshima Peace Park, striking up conversations in English and conducting interviews to ask them about what they found appealing about Hiroshima.
ALI HAFIZ SHAN E says that what he finds most rewarding about this activity is seeing the children gain confidence and become excited about learning. Above all, he says he finds joy in seeing the children gain confidence and become excited about learning.

Through this initiative, ALI HAFIZ SHAN E’s goal is to continue supporting children—as an event manager, educator, and student—and to help them acquire skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

ALI HAFIZ SHAN E says that the Project-Based Learning (PBL) exercises he studied in college proved useful as he planned and managed events for this initiative. He explains that it was not just classroom learning, but the hands-on experience and lessons he gained firsthand that enabled him to lead the initiative to success.

For ALI HAFIZ SHAN E, the children’s enthusiasm, support, and eagerness to learn are the driving force that motivates him to continue this work and contribute even more to the local community in the future.
