Driving Sustainable Agriculture and Social Innovation with a Global Perspective

A Unique Environment Focused on Innovation, Leadership, and Diversity

I chose Eikei University of Hiroshima because its educational approach is distinct from traditional lecture-based learning. The university focuses on Project-Based Learning (PBL), communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills—essential abilities for our future careers.

I was also drawn to the diverse international community, which offers endless opportunities to learn from people with varied cultural backgrounds. Furthermore, the university’s strong emphasis on social innovation and sustainability aligns perfectly with my goal of contributing positively to society.

Practical Insights and Self-Discipline Through a Tourism Industry Internship

During my Experiential and Practical Program (EPP), I participated in a one-month online internship with EXest Inc. via the WOW U platform, focusing on tourism-related research and connecting tour guides with travelers.

Working remotely required strong self-discipline and time management. I independently organized my schedule, conducted in-depth research, analyzed data, and presented my findings and opinions directly to my supervisor using structured presentation slides.

This hands-on experience greatly boosted my confidence in expressing ideas and gave me valuable insights into global business practices, effective communication, and the mechanics of the tourism industry.

Mastering the Five Competencies to Address Complex Real-World Challenges

Through PBL and multicultural collaboration, I have actively developed Eikei University’s Five Competencies:

  • Foresight: Looking deeply into social issues from multiple perspectives to anticipate long-term impacts and plan sustainable solutions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Analyzing and evaluating information logically through research to craft effective, data-driven solutions.
  • Global Collaboration Skills: Communicating openly, respecting diverse viewpoints, and building trust within multicultural teams.
  • Execution Skills: Taking initiative, managing tasks effectively, and persisting through challenges to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Self-Improvement Skills: Cultivating a mindset of continuous learning, reflection, and proactive growth in a changing world.

Together, these skills have prepared me to act as a responsible global citizen ready to tackle complex societal issues.

Empowering Local Communities Through Sustainable Agriculture and Entrepreneurship

My goal is to combine my international experiences with entrepreneurship. Beyond gaining professional expertise in a global setting, my long-term dream is to establish a sustainable poultry farm in Nigeria to produce quality, affordable food—improving protein access and supporting local food security.

By leveraging the knowledge of environmental sustainability and innovative technologies I acquire at Eikei University, I plan to build a business that minimizes environmental impact, creates local employment opportunities, and strengthens my country’s economy.
