Message
Welcome and thank you for your interest in environmental and sustainability studies. Through my teaching and research, I aim to help students understand the complex relationships between society, technology, energy systems, and the environment. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning as we explore solutions to environmental challenges and work toward more sustainable and carbon-neutral futures.
Summary of the Research Undertaken
My research examines sustainable energy systems and environmental sustainability through the integration of energy economics, policy analysis, and engineering approaches. I investigate electricity market design, demand-side flexibility, industrial decarbonization, and climate mitigation strategies to support the transition toward carbon-neutral and resilient societies.

Details of the Research
My research focuses on the development of sustainable and resilient energy systems that support environmental sustainability and carbon neutrality. I combine methods from energy economics, environmental engineering, optimization, simulation modeling, and policy analysis to evaluate technological and institutional pathways for decarbonization.
During my doctoral research at Kyushu University, I investigated electricity market dynamics, renewable energy integration, and demand response programs under uncertainty. My work evaluated the economic and welfare impacts of market-based flexibility measures and examined how consumer behavior, electricity pricing, and renewable energy penetration influence system performance.
Following my doctoral studies, I joined the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I²CNER), Kyushu University, where I worked on collaborative research projects with Mitsui Chemicals. My research focused on industrial decarbonization pathways, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), electrification, fuel switching, and techno-economic assessment of low-carbon technologies. These studies aimed to support evidence-based decision making for industrial carbon neutrality and long-term sustainability planning.
My current interests include sustainable energy transitions, environmental sustainability, climate and energy policy, industrial decarbonization, electricity market design, and demand-side flexibility. Through interdisciplinary research, I seek to contribute to the development of practical solutions that balance environmental protection, economic efficiency, and social well-being.
