An Active Learning Environment Where Motivated Peers Come Together
I Didn’t Want a Passive University Life
During high school, I often questioned the routine of studying solely to pass entrance exams for highly ranked universities. I wanted to think about things from a broader perspective and connect with people from diverse backgrounds. While searching for such an environment, I discovered Eikei University of Hiroshima.
The opportunity to learn across disciplines beyond the boundaries of the humanities and sciences, the practical learning offered through Project-Based Learning (PBL), and the campus where I could interact with international students on a daily basis—all of these elements created the ideal environment for the active, self‑driven university life I had been seeking.

Realizing How Narrow My Perspective Was—A Lesson Learned in the Mountains of the Philippines
One of the most memorable learning experiences during my time at Eikei University of Hiroshima was the overseas volunteer program offered through the Experiential and Practical Programs. I visited an elementary and junior high school located deep in the mountains of the Philippines, where I encountered ways of life, cultural norms, and educational environments completely different from those in Japan.
Everything was surprising, but at the same time, it made me realize just how narrow my perspective had been.
Stepping into an unfamiliar world and continuing to engage with local people—even when I felt uncertain—greatly strengthened my Energetic drive, one of the five competencies emphasized at Eikei University of Hiroshima. This experience sparked my interest in many different fields and gave me the confidence to dive into anything that caught my attention without hesitation.
Eikei University of Hiroshima is full of peers who take initiative and act boldly. Being surrounded by such people has always encouraged me, and I naturally developed the mindset of “Let me try it first.”

Toward a Society Where People and Organizations Can Meet in the Best Possible Way
After graduation, I hope to contribute to creating a society where individuals can thrive in environments that truly fit who they are—starting from the field of recruitment. Reflecting on my own job‑hunting experience, I felt that Japan’s current standardized hiring system sometimes fails to convey a candidate’s full potential and uniqueness.
For example, a conventional entry sheet or a short interview often cannot capture a person’s real strengths or what makes them exceptional. Through a role that bridges people and organizations—determining “this workplace is right for this person” or “this company needs talent like this”—I want to help ensure that both employees and employers can find greater happiness and fulfillment.

Message to Prospective Students and Juniors
During your four years at university—a period that feels both long and short—I hope you will visit many places, meet many people, and broaden and deepen your interests. Being just a little bit busy often turns out to be the most enjoyable way to spend your student life.
What makes me truly grateful for having entered Eikei University of Hiroshima is that I was surrounded by peers who took initiative and acted boldly. The days I spent with such proactive and inspiring classmates greatly expanded my world.
