An article about the disaster-prevention drill conducted for international students of our university at the Hiroshima City Disaster Management Center on Friday, March 13, 2026, was published in the Chugoku Shimbun.
This training was conducted with the aim of deepening understanding of natural disasters in Japan—such as earthquakes and fires—and helping participants develop the ability to act appropriately in emergency situations.
On the day of the training, nine international students took part in practical programs, including experiencing simulated earthquake shaking, practicing evacuation in a smoke-filled room, and learning how to use a fire extinguisher. Through these hands-on activities based on real disaster scenarios, participants gained a deeper understanding of disaster preparedness and the importance of appropriate actions.
Our university will continue to provide practical disaster-prevention education so that international students can live safely and with peace of mind in Japan.
