Taking the First Step Among Those Who Dare to Challenge
Before entering Eikei University of Hiroshima, I had several aspirations: to take on new challenges with peers at a newly established university, to study abroad for an extended period, and to explore potential career paths. To achieve these goals, I was drawn to Eikei University of Hiroshima because it valued extracurricular activities from high school and offered classes in English.

Through my studies and experiences at university, my aspirations and vision evolved significantly. I gained foresight—the ability to identify issues from multiple perspectives based on a foundation of interdisciplinary knowledge. I also developed strategy by gathering and analyzing new information to understand the essence of problems beyond surface-level issues. Most importantly, I cultivated the ability to take initiative and actively pursue new challenges.
One course that had a profound impact on me was “Introduction to Cultural Anthropology”. Through fieldwork at a maid café, I experienced the process of articulating the blurred boundaries between ideals and reality, and was captivated by the fresh perspectives offered by anthropology. This inspired me to continue studying cultural anthropology in the future.

After graduation, I hope to work in the media industry, using the multifaceted and flexible perspectives I developed at university. My goal is to uncover the appeal of stories and produce documentaries or articles that capture people’s interest and offer new viewpoints to society. After gaining work experience, I also plan to pursue further studies abroad or at graduate school to deepen my knowledge. To achieve this, I will continue to cultivate my ability for self-improvement and growth.
My time at Eikei University of Hiroshima taught me the importance of taking on challenges. Being surrounded by people who were constantly pushing boundaries gave me the courage to take my own first steps. Everyone faces uncertainty about the future, but it’s important not to be overwhelmed by societal pressure. Instead, follow your curiosity. By trusting your interests and embracing new challenges, you may discover a future beyond what you ever imagined.
