On Saturday, December 6, 2025, six international students from our university participated in a traditional Mochitsuki (rice cake–pounding) event organized by the Yoshijima Shinmachi Neighborhood Association in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City.

During the event, the students pounded mochi and shaped it with the warm support of community members. It was a precious opportunity for the students to experience a traditional Japanese culture.

In addition, tonjiru (pork miso soup) and yakiimo (roasted sweet potatoes) were served for lunch, warming both body and spirit. The students enjoyed interacting with local residents in a friendly atmosphere filled with smiles.
