An Environment Where I Could Truly Be Myself

Before entering Eikei University of Hiroshima, I didn’t have a clear dream or goal. I didn’t know what kinds of careers existed or what suited me, and I couldn’t envision a concrete future. Still, I had a vague desire to “contribute to the happiness of many people.”

During my gap year, I seriously reflected on what I truly wanted to do. I realized that rather than aiming for a university with high rankings, I wanted to study in an environment that genuinely excited me. Eikei University of Hiroshima offered the opportunity to be part of the first cohort, to take on challenges, and to meet peers and professors who also embraced challenges. I felt it was a place where I could grow my global collaboration, and so I decided to enroll.

Through my studies and experiences at university, I developed foresight and broadened my perspective. I had never considered entrepreneurship or international relations before, but seeing my peers thrive in worlds I hadn’t known inspired me. Options I had never imagined became realistic and attainable.

One class that had a particularly strong impact on me was “Project-Based Learning”. I used to think that solving social issues was mostly intuitive. But I learned that accurately articulating and visualizing problems is essential. Gaining this skill gave me confidence that I could contribute to solving social challenges by applying strategic thinking.

After graduation, I will work as an engineer at a company that combines real estate and technology to make property transactions more seamless. I chose this path simply because it seemed exciting. But I also want to remain flexible, shaping my career around what I truly want to do, without being confined to a specific industry.

To future students and juniors, I want to emphasize “the importance of human connection”. I’m someone who is driven by achievement, but I’ve come to realize that the joy of spending time with people I care about outweighs the joy of success. When you pursue a dream or goal, the support of friends and family is essential. At Eikei University of Hiroshima, you’ll definitely meet peers who share your aspirations and challenge you to grow. Cherish those encounters and make the most of this university as a valuable platform.
