Expanding Horizons at Eikei University of Hiroshima: Toward New Challenges

Before entering Eikei University of Hiroshima, I had only a vague idea of what I wanted to do, but I was determined to continue studying English. I was drawn to the university’s unique curriculum, which differed from other institutions, and with encouragement from my high school teachers, I decided to enroll with the hope that “something might change if I go to Eikei University of Hiroshima.”

Through my studies at the university, my aspirations and vision changed significantly. By continuing to study English, I came to appreciate the importance of embracing new perspectives. I learned that realizing this requires daily information gathering and actively stepping into various environments.
The subjects that had the greatest impact on me were the Liberal arts courses “Studies in Diversity and Multiculturalism” and “Introduction to Social Psychology.” Learning about systems that respect diverse values helped me develop foresight—the ability to identify essential issues by thinking from multiple angles, even in everyday situations.

Eikei University of Hiroshima is full of proactive students, and by challenging myself alongside them, I naturally developed global collaboration and was positively influenced by their energy and drive.

After graduation, I hope to become someone who empowers others to feel confident and bring out their unique strengths.

To future students and juniors, I want to say: “Time is more limited than you think.”
Don’t hesitate—jump into new experiences. What you gain from stepping into unfamiliar environments will surely lead to personal growth. And through those experiences, develop the habit of thinking deeply and noticing the small things. These habits will shape your future.
