| A Serendipitous Encounter That Led Me to a Flexible and Practical Learning Environment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Choosing Eikei University of Hiroshima was a coincidental discovery, but it ultimately became one of the best decisions I could have made at that time. I first learned about the university at an education fair and was immediately drawn to its course design. One of the main reasons I chose Eikei University of Hiroshima was its flexible curriculum, which allows students to explore a wide range of subjects across different fields rather than being limited to a single discipline.
I also appreciate that the foundational curriculum<\/a> is built around project\u2011based learning<\/a> and design thinking<\/a>\u2014approaches that promote practical, hands-on, and immersive learning. In addition, students are encouraged to initiate their own events and projects based on their interests and curiosity, which helps foster creativity and leadership.
I find Eikei University of Hiroshima strong emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals particularly meaningful. The integration of SDG perspectives into classes from a liberal arts<\/a> standpoint creates a unique learning environment that encourages students to think critically about global issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

| A Hands\u2011On Class That Transformed My Learning Through Design Thinking and Engagement with Social Issues<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A few of the most memorable and actively engaging classes I have taken at Eikei University of Hiroshima are Design Thinking<\/a> and Social Entrepreneurship. Design Thinking is a human\u2011centered and iterative problem\u2011solving approach that emphasizes deeply understanding user needs in order to develop innovative solutions. Throughout the course, we worked through stages such as Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, which helped us explore how practical, desirable, feasible, and viable ideas are created.
Similarly, Social Entrepreneurship<\/a> also approaches social, cultural, and environmental challenges from a human\u2011centered perspective. The course focuses on understanding community needs and designing sustainable, business\u2011driven solutions that can generate positive social impact. This experience helped me recognize how entrepreneurial strategies can be used responsibly and empathetically to address real\u2011world issues.
Through these classes<\/a>, I gained several valuable skills, such as effective brainstorming techniques, conducting fieldwork to gather insights, and researching existing solutions to identify gaps and opportunities. These skills have strengthened my ability to approach problems creatively, empathetically, and collaboratively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

| How a Multicultural Environment Broadened My Perspectives and Shaped My Growth<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since coming to Eikei University of Hiroshima, my ways of thinking and personal values have changed significantly. Being part of a diverse community has broadened my perspectives and helped me develop a more inclusive mindset, even though I had already grown up in a multicultural environment in India. Interacting with peers from various backgrounds has strengthened my ability to view issues from multiple angles and nurtured Foresight<\/a>, the skill to identify problems. It has also reminded me of the importance of empathy in communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, I have experienced remarkable growth in my public speaking and networking skills. Through classes and extracurricular activities, I have become more confident in presenting my ideas and collaborating in professional settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most memorable experiences was representing Eikei University of Hiroshima at an international school in Hiroshima, where I gave a presentation about my life in Japan and my experiences at Eikei University of Hiroshima. At that moment, I realized that my efforts and contributions were being recognized by the university. This experience boosted my confidence, motivated me to keep challenging myself, and made me truly proud of how much I have grown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am deeply interested in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and I hope to build a career that allows me to integrate these values into creative work\u2014particularly within the field of Marketing. My goal is to use marketing strategies to highlight DEI principles, promote meaningful representation, and contribute to more inclusive communication practices within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before beginning my professional career, I plan to pursue a master\u2019s degree in marketing and management or a related program in Business Management. I believe this academic foundation will equip me with the knowledge, strategic skills, and practical experience necessary to succeed in a global, creativity\u2011driven career path. My long\u2011term vision is to work in an environment where I can combine creativity, strategy, and social impact to drive positive change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
