{"id":1696,"date":"2025-06-02T11:31:07","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T02:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eikei.ac.jp\/english\/?post_type=news&#038;p=1696"},"modified":"2025-08-25T14:56:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T05:56:06","slug":"special-iep-lecture-featuring-dr-preetha-rajaraman-vice-chair-of-the-radiation-effects-research-foundation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/eikei.ac.jp\/english\/news\/1696\/","title":{"rendered":"Special IEP Lecture Featuring Dr. Preetha Rajaraman, Vice Chair of the Radiation Effects Research Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the <a href=\"https:\/\/eikei.ac.jp\/english\/academics\/feature\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Intensive English Program (IEP)<\/a> hosted a special lecture featuring Dr. Preetha Rajaraman, Vice Chair and Executive Director (U.S.) of the Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This special event was organized by Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/eikei.ac.jp\/english\/academics\/researcher\/details_00287\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">UESUGI Yuko<\/a>, who first met Dr. Preetha Rajaraman at the U.S.-Japan Society meeting in late 2024. After months of coordination, the lecture was successfully arranged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Preetha Rajaraman delivered an engaging and accessible talk on how radiation research is positively applied in the fields of science and medicine, as well as the effects of radiation in our daily lives. Students listened attentively, taking notes throughout the session.
