{"id":1304,"date":"2020-12-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-01T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eikei.dev.db-force.net\/english\/news\/1304\/"},"modified":"2020-12-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T15:00:00","slug":"details_00156","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/eikei.ac.jp\/english\/news\/1304\/","title":{"rendered":"Partnership with Ashinaga Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"cms_text\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16.32px\">Eikei University of Hiroshima\uff08EUH\uff09 and Ashinaga Foundation, which promotes &#8220;Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI)&#8221;, the concept of developing leaders who will play a leading role in development of Africa, formally concluded the partnership agreement on November 25, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cmn_gallery col2\">\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cmsdata\/att\/00156_01344_010.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cmsdata\/att\/00156_01344_020.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cms_text\">\n<p>We appreciate Ashinaga Foundation for providing us the opportunity to develop human resources who can play active roles in African countries facing various issues such as poverty and conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>The event was&nbsp;reported in The Chugoku Shimbun (a Japanese local daily newspaper) on Thursday, November 26.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000* The agreement between Ashinaga Foundation and HiROSHIMA GLOBAL ACADEMY was also concluded on the same day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span>Agreement Ceremony<\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"cmn_textPhoto right\">\n<figure>\n<span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cmsdata\/att\/00156_01372_010.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\"><strong>\uff11\u3000Date<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u3000Wednesday, November 25, 2020 14:45 &#8211; 15:15<\/p>\n<p>\u3000* Held Online<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\uff12\u3000Participants<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\u3000<\/span><strong>\u25cbAshinaga Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\u3000 Mr. Yoshiomi Tamai, Founder and President<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u3000 Mr. Osamu Fujimura, Former Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan and Vice-President<\/p>\n<p>\u3000 Ms. Yukie Seki, Director, Ashinaga Africa Initiative<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u3000\u25cbPublic university corporation Prefectural University of Hiroshima<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u3000Dr. Kenichi Nakamura, Director and President of PUH&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000Dr. Mutsuhiro Arinobu, President-to-be of EUH<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\uff13\u3000Outline of the Partnership Agreement<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\uff08\uff11\uff09Partnership on EUH curriculum<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ashinaga Foundation offers experiential \/ practical programs (e.g. internships, volunteering abroad) to EUH students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ashinaga office in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Uganda, and Senegal will accept EUH students.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">\uff08\uff12\uff09Partnership&nbsp;on Study Abroad Programs<\/span><\/strong><em>\u3000<\/em><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">* EUH is the first national\/public university in Japan to make this partnership&nbsp;<\/span>on regular international students!<span style=\"font-size:17.952px\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ashinaga Foundation actively promotes EUH to AAI students and recommends students who wish to study at EUH.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3><span>Dialogue to Commemorate the Agreement<\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"cms_text\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16.32px\">The&nbsp;special dialogue&nbsp;was held between Mr. Tamai, President of Ashinaga Foundation, and Mr. Yuzaki, the Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture to commemorate the agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cmn_textPhoto left\">\n<figure>\n<span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/cmsdata\/att\/00156_01375_010.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>Mr. Tamai introduced Ashinaga Foundation has been engaged in supporting orphaned students for more than 50 years,&nbsp;and he&nbsp;enthusiastically talked about his thoughts on supporting them to go to universities and AAI.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Yuzaki commented on opening the new university, &#8220;In this unpredictable era, it is important to develop students\u2019 ability to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing society, so that they can have their own &#8220;will&#8221; to seek solutions to them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cms_text\">\n<p><strong>\u25c6Ashinaga Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ashinaga supports orphaned students, as well as children with a parent suffering from a physical or mental disability that prevents them from working. Our support is divided into three main fields: enabling access to education, providing emotional support, and empowering our students. Ashinaga Uganda was Ashinaga\u2019s first international office. These fields apply to all of our activities in Japan and Sub-Saharan Africa, including the Ashinaga Africa Initiative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u25c6<strong>Ashinaga&nbsp;<\/strong>Africa Initiative (AAI)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ashinaga Foundation established the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) in 2014 with the aim of contributing to Sub-Saharan Africa\u2019s long-term development by empowering a generation of future leaders.
