Days Spent in a Colorful Environment Where Diverse Values Intersect<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Confidence Comes Later\u2014By Facing Each Moment in Front of You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before entering Eikei University of Hiroshima, I did not have a clear dream or a defined industry I wanted to enter. I had no specific vision for a future career or for starting a business<\/a>. But there was one belief that had remained constant for a long time:
I wanted to be someone people could trust\u2014someone others rely on, someone who could support and inspire those around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeking an Environment Where I Could Build on My Strength in English While Learning Broadly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Because I did not yet have a concrete future goal, I wanted to avoid choosing a faculty that specialized too narrowly in one field. At the same time, I wanted to continue improving my English, which had always been my strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was looking for a university where I could develop my strengths while also gaining a wide range of knowledge across multiple areas.
It was Eikei University of Hiroshima that offered exactly the kind of environment I had been searching for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discovering the Joy of Learning Amid Challenges, and Growing Through Hands-On Practice with Peers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Two experiences that had the greatest impact on me after entering Eikei University of Hiroshima were the Intensive English Program (IEP)<\/a> and Project-Based Learning (PBL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Intensive English Program (IEP), I spent six months in an environment where I continuously strengthened my English skills. As a member of the advanced class, the course content was demanding, and keeping up was far from easy. Yet it was precisely through this challenging environment\u2014and my willingness to keep pushing forward\u2014that I discovered the true joy of learning. I believe that this experience steadily fostered my Self-improvement<\/a>, allowing me to continue learning with ambition rather than settling for the status quo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Project-Based Learning (PBL), I gained practical experience tackling real social issues by conducting fieldwork and research in collaboration with partner companies. Through both individual and group work, I strengthened my ability to think deeply, persevere as I moved forward with my peers, and take initiative\u2014developing my Energetic drive<\/a>, one of the five competencies emphasized at Eikei University of Hiroshima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaining Confidence Little by Little Through Encounters with Diverse Peers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As I experienced various classes and met many different people, I participated in numerous group work activities. Over time, I found more and more moments when others resonated with my ideas. I was also often relied upon for my strength in English, and gradually, I began to gain confidence in myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four years I spent at Eikei University of Hiroshima were truly days lived in an environment where diverse values intersect<\/a>. Being surrounded by peers from a wide variety of backgrounds helped me gradually discover my own strengths and the values I hold dear\u2014something that has become an irreplaceable asset in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting People, and Connecting People with Society<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My ultimate aspiration has not changed much since before entering the university. However, the habits I cultivated\u2014thinking deeply, communicating through English, guiding issues toward solutions, and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds\u2014are abilities I now want to put into practice in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After entering the workforce, I hope to engage with regional and social issues on the ground and become someone who is trusted as a bridge between people, and between people and society. By taking steady actions that support others, I aim to contribute to building a better and more inclusive society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Message to Prospective Students and Juniors<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even if you find yourself unsure about what you want to do\u2014and feel anxious or pressured because of it\u2014you don\u2019t need to force yourself to find an answer right away. What matters most is to engage sincerely with each class, activity, and encounter in front of you, and to accumulate a wide range of experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through that process, you will gradually begin to see your own strengths and values, and those realizations will naturally lead to greater confidence.
